Mike St. James (David) Mike St. James is both a film and TV actor. A native Pennsylvanian, he started acting while in high school with the lead role in the student film, In the Nick of Time. After moving to Wilmington, NC, he was cast for several commercials and short films. He is currently working on the TV pilot Raven Rock as the character Detective Mike Murdock. Mike St. James can be seen this summer in a series of coffee commercials.
Baylen Lucas (Jeremy/Darth Vader) Baylen has recently been cast as young “Dillon” in the High Fall Productions project Raven Rock, filming in Wilmington, NC. Baylen is currently a Red Belt in the Martial Arts discipline of Hap Ki Do and competes at martial arts tournaments. Baylen attends academically accelerated classes and lives in the Wilmington area with his family.
Sara Lucas (Sara/Tin Man Girl) Sara had a solo in a summer musical production in 2007. Sara has been dancing since the age of 3 and is currently part of a competitive dance duet team, which has won numerous awards. Sara is a Brown Belt in Hap Ki Do and is part of the demo team and is an Assistant Instructor. Academically accelerated and an AIG student, Sara is part of the Duke TIP program. Sara lives in the Wilmington, NC area with her family.
Abigail Hoover (Princess) Abby Hoover-St. James, born in Pennsylvania in 1997, is the daughter of actor Mike St. James. She started acting for the stage in school productions, but decided to enter the "family business" and pursue acting for the camera. She now does morning news productions at her school. David is her first film.
Devin DiMattia (director/co-producer) graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2008 with a major in Film Studies. He was born in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to North Carolina in 1993. He has wanted to make movies ever since he saw 2001: A Space Odyssey at the age of 15. This is his directorial debut. He has just finished a second film, Firewall of Sound, a documentary short on the Internet and its relation to the independent music industry of Chapel Hill.
Chase Wrenn (director of photography/co-producer) is also a recent graduate of the Film Studies Department at UNCW. He enjoyed working with the cast and crew on making the best film possible. With his interest in film focused mostly on editing, this is his first attempt at cinematography on a film despite having background experience in both grip and lighting. Chase's end goal and direction in the film community is to make a film in every genre, making films that people with any taste can enjoy. He loves many varieties of film, and takes influences from films old and new. His favorite films are Clue and Lost in Translation.
Valarie Kite (production designer/co-producer) graduated from UNCW with a BFA in Film Studies in the spring of 2008. She first became involved with film and television in 2001, when she helped produce her high school T.V. show WCTV. Then, Valarie continued on this filmmaking path in 2003 when she completed the North Carolina School of the Arts' Summer Film Intensive where she made thirteen short films and was nominated for Best Comedy with her film Culture Shock. Since entering the Film Studies program at UNCW, Valarie has remained on the Dean's List, and has twice received the Chancellor’s Award for Academic Excellence, all while completing a wide variety of film production and critical studies classes. She is currently working part-time as an interior designer. Valarie hopes to work professionally in the local Wilmington film industry.
Perry Wright (composer) is the frontman for the Chapel Hill indie rock group The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers. Their second album, The Mother of Love Emulates the Shapes of Cynthia, was awarded a 7.5 rating from Pitchfork, who described Perry as "the sort of restrained, concise singer that [Conor] Oberst might one day grow into." Perry can also be seen in the documentary short Firewall of Sound. He is currently working on the Prayers and Tears' third album.

Welcome to the David Website!
This is the official website for the 2008 UNCW student production David, about a young man who gets a shot at redemption when his probation officer makes him volunteer at a Halloween party for underprivileged children.
